The Lawman ain't....svelt....If you thought you saw a manatee getting in a dive boat it was probably me. I like big ladders, preferably the "T" ladders you can go up with fins on.
1. Do the small boats have these ladders?
2. Aldora, Papa Hogs & Living Underwater-do they have big ladders?

The Lawman NEEDS a big ladder!

I haven't seen a T-ladder on any boat in Coz. And I can just about 10,000% guarantee you won't find one on small boats! The cattle boats will have bigger ladders or a dive platform you have to hoist yourself up onto..ala whale landing! One of Del Mars boats, for instance. Most small boats have a moveable aluminum ladder they hang over the side of the boat when you exit the water. They are narrow and hang straight down.

Aldora and LU specifically, I can't say. I'd suggest you email each and ask them!

I know many of the divers on this forum prefer the small fast boats in Cozumel, but as pointed out, small boats equal small ladders.

We just returned from Coz last week and dove with Aqua Safari and went on the big boats instead of the fast boats and loved it.

The big boats were uncrowded, left later in the morning, had cover from the sun and very important, were easy to get in and out of (big ladders and big dive platform)

Aqua Safari offered good service and the boats were in good shape and they offered cold drinks and various pastries between dives (As a big guy, I loved this and even skipped lunch because tuna pastries were so filling) They were very reasonable, $55 for a two tank morning dive and they will add a one tank afternoon dive to Paradise reef for only $9 more. They offer nitrox for only $8 a tank (we had no problem getting 36% all week and they have analyzers on the boat)

:) Hey, thanks for the info! Thats the kind of stuff I needed to know. I hate trying to get on a boat with a little ladder and a chop on the water. I don't bend in the middle like I used to and like to climb up the ladder and then take my fins off.
Thanks again.

Aldora does not have any big ladders.

We dove off the Belinda, one of Aqua Safari's fast boats. It had a T ladder.
