La Paz instead of Grand Cayman?

We're supposed to leave for Grand Cayman this Saturday and am considering alternative dive destinations in light of Ivan. I haven't had time to research La Paz & the Sea of Cortez, but am thinking about going there if the Caymans don't work out. We would stay at La Concha and dive with Cortez Club. Is the diving decent in La Paz?

Yes, sea of cortez is a good choice.
I went back to la paz 3 weeks ago. you can search for my past comment on la paz in the board.
just keep in mind that it´s hurricanes season there too. no one can guarantee good weather. i heard about a tropical storm one week ago at los cabos, dont know if it affected la paz too. ask the cortez club about the conditions, and good luck.

I dove in the Sea of Cortez on the 1st week of agust.
I was on a living abroad boat (www.bajaex.com) I was amazing.
U could stay in La Paz it's a nice and safe city and dive with the 3/5 dinving centers.
