We are headed to Baja in the fall. We spend quite a bit of time diving there but now would appreciate any info on a dive operator to Gorda Banks. We live about 20 minutes south of Cabo Pulmo but head into town a bit. We also are looking for a different dive operator in La Paz. We have been out with La Concha and Club Cantamar in the past. Has anyone done the camping/dive trips on Espiritu Santo? We were thinking of going out with Fun Baja. The boats look to be a decent size. Not too big. Club Cantamar really markets to the dive clubs/groups so the boats are too crowded. We used them for yrs and always had a good time but prefer smaller boats. Any info would be appreciated.

I'm diving the Gordo Banks with Manta Scuba in the first week of October. I have heard good things about them. I'm going to write a trip report when I get back.

HI,
We are down there the same time, from oct 8- mid november. I look forward to your trip report. We are also hoping to do a camping-diving trip to Espiritu Santo out of La Paz with FunBaja. Since there does not seem to be much info regarding shops in La Paz, we will definetly post a report.

I can recommend Fun Baja. My wife and I spent five days diving with them last October. The boats are small and fast, but consequently the ride is very wet and can be rough at times. We wore our wetsuits and masks much of the time when traveling between sites. There is adequate covering for shade. Good guides, nice lunches, they will rinse gear and have it ready on the boat in the morning. Our boat had a marine head under the wheelhouse.

No camp/dive experience to relate, but we are curious about those trips as well.

Funny, we are actually going with Cantamar this October for the bigger boats. We are getting old, and comfort is a big factor now, as in dry rides with real bathrooms!
