Went out to La Jolla shores today at 11:00 am, a little bit of wave action on the way out but not too bad. We headed straight out from Vallecitos street and swam north until we reached the dropoff and swam along the ledge westward. Visibility was about 15 feet, and dropped down to about 10 once we hit 60 feet. Water temperature was 63 degrees and then dropped down to about 55 at depth. We ended up seeing three octopi, a horn shark and some other misc. stuff. Very enjoyable dive!

Here are some pictures, can anybody help me with an ID on the nudibranch and the turbot I think it is? Also, I think the octopi are all two spot octopus', is that right? Thanks! Happy diving!

Depth: 60 feet
Time: 57 minutes
Vis: 10-15 ft
Temp: 55-63

Unknown turbot?

Thanks Coll for the report;) Its been a dry weekend for me, so its good to see some people got out.

Your unknown opisthobranch is a Navanax "Navanax inermis":

My best guess on your Turbot is that it is a Hornyhead Turbot "Pleuronichthys verticalis". Don't know why it has the splash of white on its back though.
