Welcome to LA County Scuba! - About the 3R's Program

For most well aware of Redondo Beach, this free class isn't needed but for new divers, new shore divers and new to the area divers (like me) this is a nice chance to get first hand, local advice about shore diving in SoCal and also specifically about Redondo.

Anyone going? Anyone done one of these classes before? Info in the link above if you haven't....

I will be there even though it is gonna be a little on the cold side. I haven't been to Redondo Beach to dive in about 5 years (when I was here in LA for a visit) so I am looking forward to the fun!

I did the 3R classes by me last summer at Leo Carillo, Pt Dume and Nicholas. Way better than the one I did a few years prior. Everything in the class is without scuba gear. Conditions weren't good for shore diving after the classes I did, or I had schedule conflicts, but I learned a lot about local dive conditions for each site.

I've never been to Vet's Park, but from everything I've read here it sounds like a good dive spot, although a bit of a drive for me. I'm seriously considering going and bringing dive gear in case conditions are good and I can find a dive buddy

Awesome class! I took it at White's Point a few years ago and learned alot about how to deal with SoCal surf and rock entries. I later got to share some of this with my OW students at Vet's Park in Redondo.

I would dive with you but I just don't have the time to do the water portion of the class tomorrow. I wish I had more time but I can only stay for the lecture portion. That said, when do you want to dive Leo Carillo or somewhere closer to you? I am game and usually available week days and some weekends.

Nice folks at LA County Scuba this morning! Very informative class, well managed, and a great day to practice as the surf was up a little but not too bad. It was a little gloomy and chilly but not bad enough to keep anyone out of the water. We saw another 40 or so divers going in and out over the course of the 3 hours we were there. :D
