Ben Mooney and Mayan Aqua Dive (M.A.D.), in Cancun, really went out of his way to make my dive happen. The port was closed for two days, due to rough seas, 2-3m. Bens tenacity and perseverance made it happen. We went to Cozumel and had a fantastic Wall, and then Wreck dive. Ben keeps the ratio of divers to dive master small. Georges English is so good most of us thought he was either from the U.S. or spent a lot of time there. As most who have posted on this form have said If you are going to dive out of Cancun, dive with Mayan Aqua Dive (mayanaquadive.com). You can find them at the Club International of Cancun Hotel. Located at Kilometer marker 4.5

I could not agree more. We were supposed to be in Cancun for 4 days and then meet a big group in Cozumel. Ben suggested that I go with him to Cozumel, but as I thought I would be diving there in a couple days, I asked to stay in Cancun. Unknown to me was that I was the only one staying in Cancun. Ben sent George to pick me up, and act as my personal dive master on another outfits boat, at no extra cost. Then to top it off, he set up a fishing trip for my wife and I! Where the outfit at our hotel said that we could not do a 2PM shared trip because we were the only ones that wanted to go, Ben set us up on a boat where it was just the 2 of us but we paid less than we would have on the hotels shared boat! I cannot say enough about how well Ben treated us, and how great George was. My only problem is that I never got to go by the shop so that I could pick up a t-shirt, as he arranged for transportation to pick us up! They came to us.

I live in Atlanta, and with as good as Ben was, I will likely be flying down for a few weekends on a whim to dive with his outfit.

If you don't get down before Sept, I'll insure I'll pick up a t-shirt for you. I've shipped stuff around for Ben before when I got back to the states.

Also, thanks for the fishing information. My son wants to go fishing at least one time while we are down.

I'm glad you both had great trips!

My Son and I dove with Ben in April. It was a resort course dive for my son. Ben spent extra time in the pool with him making him feel comfortable.

During the dive, my son was a bit too aggressive on his BCD inflator. I was 2 ft away from him. By the time I reached out to grab his dump valve, Ben was already there and taken care of the situation. How he got there that fast I will never know.

Ben made the dive an eye opening experience for my son. He has since completed his part one of the OW and yes he is enrolled in the buoyancy control class.

We plan on going back down in October with a group. We will be diving with Ben and M.A.D
