Just wanted to post an actual good experience I had resolving a freaked out Suunto Vyper and a noisey regulator.
On my last dive trip, my computer decided to die mid dive and then go into a 300 tf deco dive while sitting on my desk. I took both into my LDS and the computer was sent to AL. Since the computer was a few years old, I figured best case, a couple of hundred buck to fix it and worst case, I had to spring for a new one. 3 weeks later I go to pick it up and WOW, brand new computer!!!! Only had to pay the shipping charges. Never did find out what happened to the old one but at that point, I was too giddy to really care. So in a time when most complain of the lack of customer service, I just wanted to give props where props were due.
As for the reg, it had just been service prior to the trip so they looked at it, did a complete rebuild, and gave it back....no charge!!! Major props to them.
This might not be the norm but is does go along way in defending the LDS's (yes, they can be expensive) and the service that comes along with them.
