I am looking to add a video light to my setup. I have an Olympus TG6 and the PT-059 housing on a single arm tray with the Sea & Sea YS-03 strobe. I want to stay with a compact configuration, so I want to add a small video light to the top of the camera housing instead of going to a two-arm tray. Staying at a price point of $500 or less, I found the Kraken Hydra 4000 might be the one. The features I'm looking for in a video light are the colored light selections, compact and travel friendly, and mid-range lumens (3,000-4,000).
My questions are about the reliability, battery life, overall performance of this light. Are there any quirks about it or issues you've found to be a bother or troublesome? I don't plan on using the remote control feature or the burst strobe.
If you have thoughts about a better light that's about $500, I'm open to other recommendations.
Any comments or opinions are much appreciated. I'm leaving for Fiji in a couple of weeks, so I'm looking to order next week.
Thanks for your input.
