Hi Swee Sin,

Excellent set of pictures.

I´m searching for an upgrade to my P&S, and this setup looks very impressive.
First I was pending to Nex5n, but now I don’t know...

The 8mm and 45mm are a plus against the Sony´s equivalent, and the overall quality of image of this m4/3 it isn´t behind the Nex.

I read that the GX1 tends to burn the highlights, so I´m looking for pictures of Sunburst to know how it manages.

As you describe, it was difficult to have good looking sunburst because the sync speed. But do you have any photo of sunburst without strobe to see how GX1 behave?

Thanks Baruke,
both 45mm and 8mm lens are the reason i choice M4/3 system over sony.
They are excellent lens especially the 45mm macro.
I still haven't fully bring out the capability of it yet.
I think once i had the manual focus ring with me,
i will couple it with diopter to see what it can offer us.

As for the sunburst,
I try couple time of sunburst and the reason from the lcd doesn't seem promissing,
then i stop taking sunburst shot.
Hence, so far i don't have any shot without strobe.
But i found that ND filter might help, and 8mm fisheyes can accept gelatin filter.
so i might give it a try next time.

Your macro port have a m67 screw?
Would like to know how the AF behave behind so much glass, as a wet macro.

By the way, how is the LCD brightness when shooting in M?
Does it dims or brighten if under or overexposed?
Or it maintains the luminance because your are shooting with internal flash?

Escuse me, for making too much questions...

Yes, the macro port come with M67 thread on the front.
I did try to put Inon wet lens on it to see how it perform.
As expected, the focus hunt a lot.
Took some time to get it to lock down target.
I think it won't be issue if using manual focus since there is focus peeping function.
Nowaday most Evil camera using constract detect focus method,
So if the subject and the backbround had very distinctive contrast, autofocus won't be issue.
If like a a small transparent shimp on white sandy bottom, then the focus might need sometime to get it.

I don't have much issue with LCD brightness during day light.
On night dive, i put on sola 600 and no issue too.
One thing will cause over exposure is when i turn red light on sola 600.
The whole screen become red and very hard or barely to see the subject.
But the autofocus still work, just you can't sure which point of focus it lock down on.

Hope i had answer all you question. :)

yeh that's why the focus light that built into strobes works better, turns off when the strobe flashes and back on again afterwards.
the sony is actually better than the gx1, larger sensor, longer battery, less shutter lag, and cheaper too.
Panasonic DMC-GX1 vs Sony NEX-5N
but the lack of lenses is a drawback, then again how many lenses are you going to buy.

The lcd turn red is not the sola 600 nor gx1 problem.
Its the nature of the light.
Same thing will happen if u put the red filter on the strobe focus light.
This happen tomy old s90 too.

If someone ask me which camera is better,
I would said both is nice.
The reason i choose m43 is due to it lens. :)
Actually all the thing you mention like, shuttle lag, battery life and price didnt really like what the review said.
At least for me, gx1 did a good job.
