Thanks everyone for the great suggestions so far (to earlier posts). We have decided on aridive.

Prior to the dive trip to Komodo we are going to stay on Saraya (off of Labuan Bajo) for a few days of relaxation and snorkelling.

We are wondering if we should try to go to Lombok as well? Or should we just spend the rest of our time in Bali? What areas are recommended? Interested in beaches, diving/snorkelling, nature, markets, etc. Seems that there is alot to do/see but not enough time. We have about 10 days (after the liveaboard and Saraya). Will that be too rushed?

Our total trip is 3 weeks.

Thanks:huh:

seastar, you are so lucky to have 3 weeks! You'll sum up where I go for 1,5 year in one trip.

I would recomend you to focus on Bali and skip Lombok.
Bali : Tulamben for US Liberty Wreck and Seraya, easy and relaxing
Puri Jati for great muck dives.
Mejangan for great wall dives.
Nusa Penida for challenging unique dives.
I did all of them during my 8 days trip, it involved a lot of land travelling, but it was worth it and exciting. If you are looking for relaxing journey, just focus on one or two area.

Menado : I stayed at Minahasa Prima Resort, it's quite far, about one hour boat to Bunaken, but it has great House Reef and near to Poopoh, which is also a good dive site. Travelling two hour front and back to Bunaken everyday was not too inconvinient for me, as diving in Bunaken was a very relaxing trip. I also went to Lembeh, about two three hour land journey with a little bit additional cost. For service and value for money, MPR never dissapointed me. You can check their website, they offer better price.

Komodo : I am looking forward to it also! I have booked one week LOB in October.

Sea Star, I have been to both destinations and dove with Grand Komodo. I have a picture of the dive boat Keti. e-mail me off line and I would be glad to provide you the picture of the boat and reviews of both my trips. I will be diving with Grand Komodo again in the next few months. I highly recommend them as they pioneered the diving in the Komodo area. dawhale

Hey all..

I'll be in Bali on 23/08/2006.. These 2 destinations are on my list of to-dos. I was wondering if there's a "join-in" available for 1 diver?? Please PM me!

Oh yeah!! Can anyone recommend some dive operators in Komodo? How long will it be recommended to stay in Labuanbajo for a good experience of the diving?

Ooo.. I'm so excited!
