anyone know of a super lightweight suitcase? 29" hate to use 20% of your baggage weight on the suitcase, ya know?

The lightest is going to be a simple duffel of some sort without wheels and other features. IT depends what you want to compromise on.

My husband and I bought the Osprey for a four-week trip we took last summer. Empty, it is very lightweight, and packed it is sturdy and durable. It is by far the best bag we'v ever purchased. It has wheels (important for me) and backpack straps (my husband prefers his hands to be free). I think we bought ours from REI, but it looks like they have it on eBags. (Always google coupons for eBags before buying anything b/c they usually have some deal or free shipping).

Its not as light as a duffel, but I've got a Stahlsac Jamaican Smuggler. It weighs only 9.4 lbs empty and has a lifetime warranty. Its about as light as you can get for a wheeled bag. I think Akona makes one that is about the same weight, but I don't know how well its made since I don't have one.

Zero-Haliburton. Best made, very light, hard sided, expensive as the dickens.

personally, i travel with duffel bags/gym bags--they're lightweight but well-constructed and can hold quite a bit of stuff. if you don't have any physical issues keeping you from traveling with them, i'd recommend using a duffel bag or a gym bag.

I don't know if the ads are true but Heys Luggage is supposed to have light weight baggage.

I have one of these portable scales. Balanzza Online you can find it for $20-$25. I bought it for that from my LDS. Nice to have when packing, especially nice when you're returning home with souvenirs.

I think wheels are a must. Travel to a tropical island and have the bus break down. ;)
