Hey all I'm new to the site, not so new to diving. Looking for a new BC and read some about the knighthawk... what do you all think?

also anyone on here have one or 2 for sale? Would be looking for a large one and a small one.

thanks for the input !

I have a medium I might be willing to sell. I dive a large myself and love it.
Picked up a medium as a spare but it doesn't fit me.
Im 5' 9" 180 lbs
btw: welcome to :sblogo:

Am I correct that it runs around 425$? If so, you can get a full bp/w setup for 445$ from www.deepseasupply.com . Sorry but i just had to say this, it just seems ridiculous to pay almost the same price with a normal bc that you would for a bp/w setup which is much more stable and secure in the water. When i started here and was asking questions about bc's i initially wanted to get a normal jacket style bc, but then i noticed that bp/w setups really don't run you that much more, in fact, sometimes thei're cheaper. Just my 2 bar.

Why?

Have you ever used the Knighthawk? It is a darn good BCD.

I was looking at the Knighthawk (a friend has one), but have recently changed my mind, and I'm considering the DriveRite stuff instead. I like the way it comes in modules, and you can add to it what you want. Have a number of friends swear by them - and about the same price. Nothing wrong with the Knighthawk (a very nice BCD) - but consider now the Diverite stuff better value for money. Just My opinion.

Cheers

I have a used Seahawk for sale, $150 plus shipping. Scubapro doesn't make it any more, but it's a good BC. I bought it used to see if I would like a back inflate BC, I didn't.

Ok, I am more of a conventional type guy. And OK, I have no experience with a back inflate type BC. And ok, I am a Scuba Pro fan. But how in the world can you compare teh deep sea supply bp/w with a Knighthawk? That harness system has no pockets, no integrated weight system, less D rings, and looks like something Mike Nelson would use instead of a modern diver. (mike nelson aka Lloyd Bridges of Sea Hunt fame).
It would seem to the untrained eye - and believe me my eyes are very untrained - that you are comparing apples to oranges. They may both be fruit but they aint even close in any other way.

thanks for the info guys.... seems like its a nice BC.... the bp/w i dont think i want to go with (at least for now) as ill be mostly diving tropical waters with no suit or anything... wouldnt it dig into my back ?

anyways I would be lookin for a size large and size small (for me and the little lady :) ) if anyone has a good deal on them. medium we both tried on in the store and didnt fit quiet right for either of us

I have a Knighthawk and an Oceanic Outrigger. I really like how the Knighthawk feels and dives. I like the pockets on the Outrigger. The Knighthawk has a rollout, deployable pocket, but not a standard pocket. To me that's the only drawback. I'd like to have a real pocket for a small knife and safety sausage. Those items have to be clipped on to the Knighthawk. It dives great though. I think the Outrigger dives just as well and is just as comfortable...
