got this question got a halcyon knife and just wondering do i place it to my right waist or left ? my guess is the right need advice guys thanks

ok thanks man setting up to a dir rig just making sure

AFAIK, it is supposed to be at the left of the buckle, but during the dive, it needs to be at the center. Then you can reach it with both hands easily.

Yes, minor point here that is worth noting-you have the left waist strap long enough so it is to the right of center. This allows the crotch strap to be on the left side of the buckle, and centered, and the knife to the left of the crotch strap and secured on the waist strap by the buckle. My buckles tend to be pretty far over on my right side.

Whoops, didn't mean for it to come across that way -- sorry if it did. By all means, we're open to answer questions. Just meant that the essay (if you could call it that?) on that link is good starting point. :)

Place it wherever you can reach it and it doesn't interfere with you or your gear.

Not the case from a DIR perspective. Since we're in the DIR forum, my guess is that was the answer the OP was searching for.

Agreed that, in general and if not diving DIR, place it wherever you want. If you want the DIR answer: Left side.
