After you pay for the park fee can you dive the kittywake from shore. I know you can do it from a boat. But I was thinking it's not a far swim from shore, so it would be a great shore dive.
 
There are some posts about trying to dive the KW by shore. To answer your question, I am not sure you need a medallion to shore dive the KW but if you have one you should be set. It looks like a long swim. A float/flag is must. Boat traffic should be a concern. Others have discussed doing it by kayak, which seem more reasonable. Good luck and hopefully others who have done it as a shore dive will chime in.
 
Very long swim through heavily trafficked area.
If the wind or a surface current kicks up, you might have issues.
In my opinion, not worth the risk or the energy expenditure.

I've been on several dive ops that moored at Sandchute and then actually dived the wreck without medallions.
Not sure that anyone ever checks.
