im coming to visit this area for most of october from the west coast and wondering on the conditions during that month. will the visibility be decent then and what is the approximate water temp? are there any extra precautions to be taken in october in ontario as far as winds etc? thanks for the tips

In October I'd estimate the St Lawrence will be mid to high 50's and by the end of the month in the high 40's. This will also be surface temps in Kingston. Deeper down the water will be in the 40's which it is year round in the lake.

Diving on many sites from Cornwall to Kingston should not be an issue in October but the wrecks directly exposed to the main part of lake Ontario will as usual be weather dependent.

Air temps in October have highs of 5-15 degrees C.

Visibility will however begin to improve and it's the time of year I like for diving many of the wrecks in the river.

Mat.
