I just came across this, but the Clearly Cayman (Tibbetts) Resorts are also offering a Kids Stay and Dive Free special through September, see link below. So there still might be time to arrange a cheap(er) family dive vacation.

I never remember the Tibbetts resorts and Reef Divers reaching out to families for dive trips, that was always a niche market for DiveTech on Grand Cayman. But now that they have taken over the Cobalt Coast resort, they may find that there is interest - and they can offer family vacations on all 3 Cayman islands - so that might be attractive to some families.

The Buddy Line Summer 2017 |

The details say that offer is May-Sep 2018.

That's great, I was confused because it was the summer 2017 newsletter, thanks!

I was praying it wasn't this year, because a resort full of kids is not high on my list of features for a vacation destination and we will be there in September. Hopefully this offer doesn't generate much traffic for them from families with kids. Would be a shame to have to change our plans to a different time of year in the future.

We are not keen on vacationing with a bunch of kids either, but September is after school starts so I think that would be a less popular time of year for family travel. Disney World is crazy busy during the summer, but after the school year starts it becomes much less crowded.

I would guess that resorts offering family specials would try to keep them separate from other guests as much as possible. When DiveTech was a Cobalt Coast they had a long history of offering family vacations and programs for kids; perhaps someone that stayed there during those periods can tell us how things were handled?

For those sensitive to kids, but still looking for a deal-- Sunset House on Grand Cayman has some pretty nice Fall specials going on this year, if anyone is interested: Specials - Sunset House, Grand Cayman's Hotel & Dive Center for Divers, by Divers - I have stayed there twice and am not a huge fan of their free breakfasts, but I am a bit of a foodie and picky. That being said, their restaurant "My Bar" for lunch and dinner is quite good, especially if you like Indian Food (which I do).
