Anybody have any experience with this wetsuit? It's a great price and my son will be growing, so I don't really want to spend alot.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!!! :mooner: (my son made me do it!)

If it's not too cold, buy him a neoprene vest, hood, long sleeve rashguard and board shorts.
If he complains tell him you love him and that he should just suck it up until he stops growing ;)

Edit: Hang on, just looked at the price.....my way just maaaaybe a tad more expensive. :coffee:

It should be ok... the Sea Elite stuff is made by the same OEM's that make a lot of the other big brands anyway.

Not that many places that have kids wetsuits. If it doesn't fit, you can always return it (un used of course).

Other options are Overtons sells kids water ski wet suits and Divers Direct has kids wetsuits in their Evo store brand I think.

Wetsuits aren't rocket science and they only need to fit reasonably well to be remarkably effective. My kids have had Oneil and no name brand wetsuits and they were all reasonable quality full suits, some of them even had wrist and ankle zips.

Considering you can get an adult size suit for $100, $35 seems reasonable to me.

Wondering if you did go ahead with the Sea Elite, I am in the same situation with my son, he absolutely refuses to wear a rental (gets it from his Mother!). Actually looking at one for myself as well for our Keys trip Christmas week, they have some great pricing.

We have three of the Sea Elite wetsuits and they are great suits for the price.

I bought one for my son and one for myself. My son's was their regular Equator 3mm brand kids suit. I bought their X2 Xflex 3/2 fullsuit and 2mm sleeveless shorty core warmer. Surface temps were 76-77 and bottom at 25' was 72-73. I wore only the fullsuit and did not feel any cold at all, my son said he was alittle chilly on the last dive. Over all they seem like great suits for the money, and even if he only gets a handful of dives out of his before he outgrows it, it was only $34.95 so cannot go wrong. The package I bought was $111.95. The Xflex was definately very stretchy and much easier to get on and off then a standard suit. Overall I am happy with my purchases. If I was diving alot more than I will get to then a more expensive better quality suit would probably be purchased but there is nothing wrong with these at all for the casual recreational diver.
