Any-one been to Keystone lately? I was wondering what the vis has been like in the last little while. I thinking about taking a couple of newer divers (diving for about a year and a half now and have about 150 dives under their belts) there this week-end. They have been wondering if there was anywhere good to dive in Washington, and one of the better, easier to get to dives I can think of is Keystone. Are there some other shore dives around the north west of Washington that are worth doing?

This is not a good week-end for Keystone ... especially with newer divers. Go 20 feet too far out on the jetty and you'll have a real hard time avoiding an unexpected ride across the ferry lane.

Take a look at the current exchanges this week-end ... Keystone isn't all that far from the Admiralty Inlet station, and is very current-prone.

This is a good week-end to choose a dive site with little or no current ...

Thanks for the info. But what has the vis been like there lately?

On 7/13, had 15'-20' with some suspended silt. Did two dives from 7:00am to 10:00am. Very little current, but chose the window for that reason.
