Hi all, I'm going to be in Key West Feb 23-25, and am hoping to catch a dive or 2.
Any recommendations for dive operators in the area? Any info would be much appreciated. Just looking for recreational diving- up to 110' (no tech diving) Wrecks and reefs would be great-
It's cold up here in Michigan- I'm looking forward to getting down there!
Thanks!

Slide on down to the Florida Conch Divers forum, and you'll get more..but I've always used Captains Corner in KW. (And my cousin uses Dive Key West)

The other shop that looks pretty competant (and I'm planning on checking out next time down) is Southpoint Divers...

Happy diving!

We went with Southpoint. They were very good. The diving in KW is not the best by any means tho...

Another vote for Southpoint.:D

Just came back frm there yesterday....Southpoint :-0

I went to Key West last January as a last-minute dive trip.

ALL of the dive operators who were open and operating at the time blatantly lied to me about conditions and their dive trips.

ALL of the dive operators (all I called them all) said they were going out twice daily and invited me to come down and dive with them. Once I arrived in Key West I discovered that, due to poor visbility and rough seas, only a couple of operators had actually been leaving the dock for the past week. Visibility was about 10 feet on the shallow reefs.

NUMEROUS dive operators told me they were doing night and wreck dives. Once I arrived in Key West, NONE of the operators had done any wreck or night dives in the past week due to the conditions.

One dive operator promised me a wreck dive, which was only reason I went out on the boat. I told them I have dove at the same shallow reef location for three days in a row and would not go back there. Once on the boat, they went to the SAME shallow reef and refused to refund my money. (I wish I could remember which operator it was, because I would tell you their name. They were off of Front Street near the Aquarium.)

Every day, ALL of the dive operators said they were going diving, but when I arrived at their shop they had already cancelled. I called around and drove around Key West every day to find the ONE boat that was actually leaving the dock.

KEY WEST SUCKS.
ALL OF THE KEY WEST DIVE OPERATORS SUCK.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.
