I went diving in Key Largo last week for the first time. We stayed at the Marriott and dove with Its-A-Dive. The resort was big, clean, a nice pool. There were three restaurants at the resort but all the food came from Gusses Grill. Very good food but exspensive. We also ate at Hobo's twice. We did the dive and stay package that seemed to be a good deal. Its-A-Dive is a first class outfit. I was booked to do the Spiegel Grove but there small boat was at dry dock. They made a call to Ocean Divers and I went with them, also first class. I had a blast snorkeling with my 7 year old daughter on the shallow reefs. By the end of the week she could identify most fish on the fish charts and sing all the words to "Its 5 o'clock somewhere." I highly recommend the Marriott and Its-A-Dive for your family vacation.

thanks for the report; glad you and your family enjoyed yourselves

Welcome to South Florida diving! I'm glad you guys had a good time. Next time you're coming this way, post a not on the board beforehand, and you just might find some familiar folks on board with you. (Of course, you might have been reading the board for a while and then decided to remain anonymous, which would make complete sense...)
