I am going to be in key largo from 5-30 thru 6-4. I will not have a buddy with me. I have a limited amount of experience. I would love to get some diving done. Does anyone have any ideas for me.

I will be staying at John Pennikemp State Park.

Thanks,
Derrick

Hi Derrick,

You might want to check with Natasha, there is a bunch of us from the Scubaboard in Key Largo from 5/31 - 6/4, staying at the Holiday Inn. 2 tank AM dives are planned Sun/Mon/Tues and some groups have other dives planned in the afternoon. Experience level is mixed. Might want to check and see if there is an openning.

You can email her at Natasha708@aol.com.

I have not been to Key Largo yet, but I am going in late July this year. I have looked at many of the operators in that area on the internet.

You might be well served by two operators in particular.

The first is Quiescence (www.quiescence.com) who specializes in small boats with only 6 passengers. They are among the higher priced ($60), but they are likely to buddy you up or let you dive with a small group.

The second is Divers City (www.diverscityusa.com) who operates a 10 passenger boat out of Tavernier. That's about 15 minutes south of Key Largo. They seem to run a small operation catering to small groups. Once again you might be able to buddy up with a small group there.

Good luck and happy diving.

There located in the marina between Holiday Inn and Ramada? I just completed a weekend of diving with them and couldn't have had a better time. 6-pack style diving with an awsome crew. They really give the impression that they're there for you, the diver. Very accomidating.

PS. ask to do Charlie's Highway, if the conditions are right. It's One Awesome dive:D
