after remembering a couple threads..
http://www.scubaboard.com/showthread.php?t=172258

and seeing only the south-shore had low surf today..
kewalo pipe sounded like a decent dive..

my last and only previous dive on the pipe was my night training dive..
(made it tougher to get lost in the dark =)
therefore wasn't quite sure where the pipe was in relation to the channel..
luckily.. by mid-morning, there were two dive boats parked over it..
(the kahala kai and the elysium, i think)

getting out there was easy from the east staircase..
as other posts suggested.. surface swam to the white buoy, approx 15min
then dropped down to 26fsw.
from there it was still a 10min kick to the boat mooring,

but it was another 10min before saw the boat-divers on their return
(funny having dm's signaling you to get back to the boat =)
then made it to the end of the internet.. errr.. pipe.. at 55fsw

saw a school of soldier fish inside.
on the return, viz was much better with the sun breakin' thru.
lots o'fish, couple white mouth eels, and some black/gray nudibranchs

however, contrary to the other posts' recommendations..
'was hard set on making it back to the east-stairs..
man o man.. that was a good work-out =/

in hind-site.. after surfacing.. should've just drifted to the west-stairs.
but, 'did get to practice shootin' the surface marker so's not to get run over =)

nize park, good facilities, showers near both stair-cases.

Oh I think I saw your marker...white float w/flag??

Great conditions there today, just posted our experience...fantastic dive :D

Jeez, when do you work vbluev. It seems like almost every other day you post "the conditions looked good, so I dove". Lucky dog.

Scuba and Dream:
work is overrated....

I know that. I am just curious so I can look into taking his job.:14:

sometimes i work shift work.. so's i can dive in the morning..

but, this time.. i took a couple days of leave =/
(because the kids are still outta school )

hey leesa.. wow! you saw a galapagos there today! awesome!
i was wondering why the hairs on the back o' my neck were standing up =O

i saw a huge galapagos at "the diner" last year..
apparently he's a normal resident there, the sea-lancers named him freddy..
