Dove Kettle Island yesterday. Water was 47 on the surface and 45 at 50'. Visibility was about 20 - 25 feet. We grabbed 6 keepers between the two of us. Great dive with nobody around exceept commercial boats.

After lunch we hit Misery Island. Vis was down a bit due to the increasing surface but still a good dive. 6 more keepers on dive two. Also found a lobster gauge that had not been down more than a month or two.

All in all a great day of diving. Air was a bit cchilly but not bad at all!

Woke up today and was glad we went yesterday.

I took this picture this past Fall. This was taken on Great Misery looking toward Little Misery and Bakers Island.

Is it April yet?!?!?!?!? (That's when the boat returns to the water).

The beauty of divving this time of year is that all the boats are out! Why not leave it in till Xmas? I get some of my best diving in Nov, Dec, Mar, April, May. For some boats and marinas this is not practical, I realize. But, if you can, I reccomend it highly.

Tall Tails - I passed your Parker a couple of weeks ago as I was sending my boat to bed for the winter. This is the longest I've ever kept her in. My marina's contract is only through Oct. 15th so I was pushing it to begin with.

We had a nice shore dive to 82' on Friday at Cathedral Rocks. Same kind of conditions you reported. I was at Mysery and Kettle the end of October. I bet my buddy dropped his gauge and didn't tell me. He loses something almost ever dive.

See you in the spring..

You bet. If I know I am going and I have some advanced warning, I will give you a ring. PM me your phone # if you want me to give you a ring.I will probably be out for the season the 3rd week of December and back in the first week of March. If your buddy did lose his gauge, he is welcome to it. Let me know.

By the way, I think your place will do latesseason contracts as well - cheaper than summer rate.

Take care.

Thems good scalloping grounds! Baker Island Channel by Misery Island. Always had good luck there near that green can.. Ideal time to go scalloping there as don't have to worry about boat traffic.

I put in the second weekend of April and take her out the last weekend in October depending upon the weather. If the weather is relatively mild I will keep the boat in longer. For about two weeks after I had taken her out we had strong winds, storms, and lot's of below freezing nights. It's tough on an engine and battery to sit for a week between starts in the freezing cold. There was one year I had it in until the weekend before Thanksgiving. I own my mooring so I can keep it in year round if I want but once the weather turns the corner I bring it in. I miss it right away though! The next season does not come fast.
