Keeping spool (with SMB attached) from unwinding underwater

How’s this approach seem for a rec diver who will store the SMB attached to the spool in their pocket? Pretty standard set up, except a small loop of bungee cord on an angle is used to keep the spool from unraveling. The double ender is attached to the bungee cord to make it easy to put bungee on and off of the spool. The bungee would stay on the double ender and stowed on a BCD D-ring during deployment.
