Kaua'i places to stay in Poipu/vicinity?

Hi. Please forgive me if this is covered in a thread I didn't catch ... but my wife and I are coming to Kaua'i June 20-July 4, diving up a storm, and looking for a place to stay. Any particular recommendations -- either condo/VRBO or hotel or something else?

(Also, we'll probably take a few days hiking elsewhere around the island -- if that changes the recommendation, we'd love to know.)
