Katana 2 vs. XDeep vs. Other?

So i dove both the Xdeep and K2.

my choice is the K2 as the wing is far better. It is more streamline when inflated and I love the shoulder dump. The stealth wing is too big for me and I can’t really reach the rear dump with my dry suit and rings on. The K2 has 40lbs of lift and I never had issues with 2x HP 100 and 2 deco bottles. The lift is plenty.

The Xdeep harness is a lot better than the K2 once adjusted. True that the K2 can be adjusted in seconds but The Xdeep harness is more streamline and more adjustable.


If I had tons of cash, I’d have a stealth harness with the K2 wing.

If I had to pick 1 only, it would be the K2.

I'm curious what extra stuff/material you would want to get rid of on the Katana2? I'm a fan of the more minimalist approach, but at cursory glance, it didn't seem like the Katana 2 was super bulky to me.

The harness parts of the QFS (quick fit blah blah ) are bulky and not very secure in my opinion. I replaced them with my own plates , I suspect Sump UK could provide anything you want.

I love the shape of the wing on the Katana. I dive with heavy steels and occasionally a deco bottle; the wing stays nice and flat.

I bought a K2 to replace my current rig and started to make some adjustments. Before I could finish, my wife had it in the pool to try and I have yet to see it since. I hear it’s nice.

How did the K2 improve upon the original Katana?
