Just started with my son

I just got my open water certification with my dive buddy, aka 13 year old son. We are looking forward to diving here in SoCal but really like the tropics. We have our first Maui trip in June and from there we are looking for ideas or groups that are family oriented in SoCal. Our first dives were amazing in the kelp beds off of Catalina and that hooked us.

My kiddies began diving off our place in Hamilton Cove. Such a great thing to get them into, especially for science projects! Your kids might like Junior Lifeguard programs (mine did the one in San Clemente)...they learn to jump off the pier, etc. There is a fantastic camp near the Isthimus, on Catalina. (Tulon, or something) that they enjoyed a lot. My kids were nuts for tide pooling, we would do that near Dana Point many evenings when we lived there.
