"The guys" are the guys I work with, we all did our OW together. At various times, in various circumstances they have called me many things.

In this case I found a mag at the place we were staying while diving that had a goodie bag in it with Scuba Chick printed on the side. I found it funny & showed it to them. It stuck. I can't remember which mag it was other than it was British... Dive Girl maybe?

Anyway, army women don't get called anything they don't want to be. At least not more than once.:out:

Does anyone have any regular buddies they dive with or do you usually pick different people?

Hi everyone, (procyon!)

Just to intro myself, I'm a new diver this year as well and I think the Lakes are a great place to start! By virtue of my name you can probably figure out who I am. I qualified OW on 2 July and haven't had the chance to get in the water more that 8 times so far this year. Next year I'm concentrating on diving, where ever it takes me.

I also hope to learn from the all the knowledge and tips that I know is here.

Thanks

Im really interested in these names. Procyon, and sirius4procyon
i am an ameteur astronomer and know the stars well so these piqued my interest. i used to use Aldhafera which is a start in Leo. i tend to go for more obscure stars. just because you dont see them a lot. like 'Denebola' also in Leo.

I'm also an amateur astronomer. Procyon (my wife) and I wanted to go with a theme as a naming convention for most/all things computerized. So I looked towards my favourite constellation, Orion and that's where we started.

BTW, I'm only the brightest in the sky, not at home, hehe. My Scuba Chick is the best!

Chick? I thought that label disappeared in the early 70's?

I still say "chick", even for grandmotherly types my own age. I guess I'll just never be PC.
At least I've stopped saying "groovy".
