What do you mean AA having big problems now?

AA furloughed, laid off and offered retirement packages so they had a labor shortage causing flights to be cancelled or delayed. This was evident in June. I have not tracked what July looks like. It does seem that United is taking advantage of AA routes.
 
Better luck then mine. I booked two trips this summer, one on each of those airlines, and incurred cancelations on both.

I would think that's true of the city, but not of the airport is it?.

Masks were requited anywhere on airport property. In the metro area, many are not wearing masks. We were asked quite a few times why we were wearing masks.
