I just ordered a a new Sea Life DC 6000 with a strobe! It should arrive next week. I plan on taking & posting lots of pictures this year, including my Bahamas trip, trips to the quarries & my Dive Master course when it starts.

Great minds think alike. I just ordered an Olympus Digital camera and housing a couple of weeks ago. I had to send the camera back though but I got the replacement today. Hopefully I'll have some pics of Chris and Jim in doubles this weekend! :D

nice!

you guys will have a lot of fun

Awesome! I'll be sure and take a shower and cleanup before my next trip down to Joe's. :D

Maybe you guys can get some pix of those blood-thirsty bluegill this spring.

hmmmmmmmm wonder if JP will have time to snap the sutter? BTW JP which model Olympus did U get?

It's a D-580. I actually found a deal on the housing first and then went shopping for the camera.

Prolly a good thing U found the housing first. I got an Olympus 350 and ordered the housing. it was back ordered for almost 3 months, barely got it in time to take to St Croix with us last Nov.

Make sure that you get the 750 mAh (or larger) batteries with it, not the 650s. I bought a DC500 when they first came out almost two years ago and have done over 100 dives with it. I had major problems with the 650 mAh batteries not lasting for a full dive. I'd buy at least one if not two spare batteries, plus the charger unit that plugs into the power cord that comes with the camera.

Also get an extra o-ring for the housing. Plus I'd recommend the wide angle lens.

Test the housing at depth without the camera to verify that everything is sealing. Put kleenix in the housing and see if any is wet.

I get great pictures with mine now that I've worked through the kinks. Make sure that you get the digital strobe (adjustable) with a diffusor unit that attaches to the front.

PM me if you want any more info.
