Hi all
and so i should be (nearly a midlife crisis). . me and the wife just completed our open water course last month in Australia, Whitsunday Islands. All dives off of Hook Island.. Just got SSI level 1 (Open water) and now booking our holiday for the Red Sea to get more experience. We learned with Reef Safari, who i must say are the dogs danglies..they are based in Shingley Beach resort, between Airlie Beach and Cannonvale..

Should have done this years ago..but the UK is a bit cold to learn and dive.

Looking forward to getting into it a bit more, just means alot more flights, in order to get into tropical blue waters

Many thanks

Jim

"Dogs Danglies"? Good one. Gives me a very vivid mental image.

You are going to be so glad you found this board. I have been diving for 15 years, yet have learned so much in the short time I have been on SB.

Welcome to SB and to diving!

Hi to both of you, and welcome. I am new here as well. I just got certified in Australia in March on the outer reef beyond the Whitsundays, but I dove there as well, and did some sailing too. Beautiful Islands aren't they?! What a great start to a life of diving. The Red Sea should be fabulous :)

This is most likely THE best forum out there. Enjoy, dont be afraid to participate and let US learn(relearn) through you.

I waited till I was almost 38 to get Cert'd. I wish I didnt wait soo long either.

Ahoy there zilch! Welcome to the board!! Feel free to jump in anywhere and ask questions or just leave your 2psi. :D You may be intersted in the Scuba Board Clubs section of the board. There you can find clubs in all the major states/regions represented, coordinate meeting up for dives, getting together, trips around the state to different dive sites, and some general prattle about diving.

Another forum that may interest you is The Art of Scuba Diving. Under that heading you'll find New to Scuba, Dive into Fitness, Public Safety and many more that as you become involed with the sport may or may not interest you depending upon where your intersts grow.

Most importantly, have fun and don't feel shy to ask questions! :D

::..adding dogs danglies to my list of expressionisms..:::
