Sher and I got back late Sunday night. I am resisting all efforts to get back into the routine, but duty calls and the pile on my desk is huge. I'll try to post a full report by the end of the week.
Sher and I stayed at the Caribe Blu for a week, and completed our open water referral with Blue Angle. We got in 8 dives after the OW 4, including a night dive. I am not going to go into in depth accounts of each location as I am so new to the game that I have no real basis for comparison and they would all be "the best dive ever... I saw so much amazing stuff!" ect.
I would like to say that both of us agree that Caribe Blu and Blue Angel both exceeded our expectations in every respect, and not by a small margin. I don't have enough good things to say about everyone associated with both the hotel and dive facility. I will try to give additional shout-outs in the upcoming "complete report".
I took some pictures and will post them as well. I am a rookie, so they might not be quite National Geographic yet -LOL- but you will get an idea of what is swimming/crawling around down there.
If I didn't know the strongest recorded hurricane in history sat on top of this island for 56 hours, there is no way I would have suspected that anything at all had happened down there. Topside looks almost perfect. We did see the Presidente from boat, and it got pummeled, but other than that, it looks like just general repair work going on. I am truly amazed at the hard work that the folks of Cozumel put in to get up and running after the storm. Divers we talked to said the some of the reefs looked at bit scrubbed, but they looked fantastic to me!
O.K. I must get some work done... But I will be back with a full report soon...
