Thank you Mandy. I support your choices for gear. It is what you wanted and you are happy with it, that is what matters. I hope you have many wonderful dives with it. It should last you a very long time.

Mandy,
Congratulations on a good gear choice. I've used an OMS bungeed wing w/ deluxe harness for years & its performed great. Hypothetical mishaps can be dreamed up for any piece of gear, and I've yet to hear of one actually happening with an OMS wing or a quick release. Its funny how the people giving critisism have never used the product they're critisizing. If more people would do like you've done, research and try things out, there would be a lot less BS being spread. Hope you enjoy your new stuff.

Thank you guys for your support.

I like to let it clear that I don't mind if some people give me advice in gear selection, that is if those people have tried and tested the equipment, let it be at the shop or in the water, I surely can benefit from more experienced divers and my goal here at SB is to learn as much as I can.

I'm an engineer and a gearhead with a cientific mind, things have to be prooved to me in a logical and cientific manner, not because someone said so or someone has this or that opinion, give me the facts and I'll decide if it's right or wrong.

I'll apreciate and evaluate any feedback given to me in any aspect of life, but depending on the facts, I'll use it or discard it as Mumbo-Jumbo

Dive Safe, know your gear, enjoy your dive!!

I love my similar setup, which I've been diving now with singles and doubles for 6 years. Congratulations. The only think I did to my delux harness was modify it slightly. I removed the quick release and ran the webbing directly through the sternum ring. I also removed the tab that is sewn on to the lower part of the harness that attaches to the sternum ring and ran the 2 inch webbing through and back down as well. I personally found my wing to be much more stable than the halcyon single tank wings I've tried in comparison...less gas shift. Just my personal opinion.

I'd hope, that if I buy something that could get me in trouble, that you guys would advise me in the right direction.

PS. I did say congratulations, and my AVA is hot, so who cares???

Good point and indeed your AVA is HOT but what else is new?
:)

Great post!
Great attitude!
There are so many people on this board who have years of experience with this type of gear and to not listen to them would be foolish. I dove for years and I mean YEARS without ever giving a BP/W a second look, now I regard it at one of the best purchases I have ever made. I learned all about it right here. I seriously doubt, based on the intelligent and open minded response above, that MANDY3206 was just looking for a pat on the back.

Why did you removed the QR buckle?

All the BCs (jacket style) that I've used, all had QR on the shoulder straps and have never presented a problem.

I was just wondering why

When I set up my gear, and have to carry it to the boat etc, I coil up my 7' hose and tuck it under a couple of bungies. It keeps my regs organized and safe from getting broken up or dragging on the ground by accident.

With that said, you will like your gear. That trouble oral-inflating mumbo-jumbo is just that...mumbo-jumbo. Also, take a look at some underwater photos of folks wearing bungied wings. Very compact.

The important part is that you like it and it fits your diving style.
