The rocks marking the shore dive sites we saw on Curacao were all painted red with a white diagonal stripe, like a dive flag, although numerous magazine articles say they are grey on Curacao (they are yellow on Bonaire). Did you notice these on Curacao?

All the ones I saw, including the one to Sunset Waters for the airplane wreck were red with white stripe. Don't think grey ones would be noticeable given the arid terrain there. Could be that some were, but we didn't notice, but unlikely.

Watched a travel show on Curacao and the markers on the show were red with white stripe.

snorkelgeek,

Pretty good pictures for a disposable underwater camera! Quite a variety of life right in the lagoon. Can't wait for our trip there in January. Thanks!

The lagoon was impressive, after seeing millions of fireworms and several scorpionfish, would never go in there barefoot! However, the real awesome snorkelling (for us that don't dive) was just outside the lagoon. Life in and around the breakwaters and the coral heads just east of the lagoon was pretty amazing to see. The octopus I took the picture of was in about 10 feet of water, about 20 feet off the beach! I can only imagine what it would be like if you could go deeper like you divers!

If you want to see an amazing slide show, check out www.awoosh.com and watch the Curacao one.
