Judy - I see you're from Vermont, where do you dive - the St L?
There are a "ton" of us who dive for a good portion of the year (some all year) so you should be able to find a buddy or two. If you're the one cold, dry is the way to go. I just got my drysuit this year -- it's sooooo nice. I chose to go with a shell - that way I go do as much layering underneath as required. Early in the season I was wearing warm woolies, now I'm down to a t-shirt and shorts.
