June Diving Recommendations

Hi folks, my wife and I are going to be in Virginia Beach for a wedding the last week of June and were hoping to squeeze in a couple days of diving. Looking for recommendations of your can't miss dives, and ideally a couple decent shore diving sites in the area as well, especially something we could do self-guided.

Also curious about exposure recommendations. We're Pacific NW divers, so used to very cold water. I dive a 7 mil wetsuit with a 3 mil vest/hood, she dives a dry suit. I'm assuming that will be too much for most dives out that way, wondering what would be best.
