This weekend is a long one since it's July 4th on Monday. Looks like the swell is predicted to drop A LOT by this weekend, and the tide will be pretty high, at least +2.5 ft, all day for each of the days. Maybe viz will be okay somwhere (though LSS is saying Shaw's is only 3-8 ft. viz today). And I'm getting my regs back from service today, after waiting 17 days.

Anyone wanna dive this weekend? I might be going to Raging Waters one of the days, but otherwise....

I am planning on diving Saturday, Sunday (boat dive to Catalina) and Monday. I have never been to Palos Verde and would like to check that area out. Let me know if you are interested or have any other nice spot. I am waiting to hear back from Cap'n Marvel to see if he can go on Saturday as well.
Take the family to raging waters on Sunday. ;)

I have to go the airport in the middle of the day on Saturday, so that's out.

Sunday, dazedone and I have talked about diving at one of the north facing beaches between PV and Malibu.

Monday, I have a family gathering to attend.

I'l be interested in seeing what the reports for the week look like concerning vis.

I'll be diving Saturday and probably Sunday, but not Monday. When, where, and with whom are open questions. As always, Laguna is a lot closer to the Inland Empire than those mysterious, distant, LA County beaches.

True, but will there be any vis at the OC beaches after getting thrashed by the big surf. I'm betting that the LA beaches will be better this weekend. Just a guess though. Hopefully, we'll get some reports over the next couple of days.

If anyone will be in Avalon on Saturday, I'll be in my usual spot in front of the steps! Hope to see a few familiar faces there this Sat!

Looks like conditions are shaping up nicely. Turns out Monday is out for me, and I may be getting a birthday party tomorrow (I'm not supposed to know...), so it's gonna be either tomorrow or Sunday for diving.

Since Phil and Christian/Dazedone are talking PV/north facing, why don't we try Malaga? I just called the Zuma/Malibu surf report for this morning, and they are saying the surf is only 1-2 ft., and visibility is fair at 10-15 ft. WOW !!!

Malaga sounds nice. Can anyone confirm that the vis is actually getting better at Malaga?
