I will be in South California (San Bernardino county) in the first week of july. I would like advice on where I can find good dives and if anyone is interested in being a dive buddy for me. I live in Tampa Florida but have my in laws in San Bernardino cities of Colton and Rialto:crafty::balloons:
Anyone can pm with advise on sights and water temperature, I have most of my own equipment but may consider just renting for a couple of dives

msscuba, just say when and you will have no problem finding divers to show you around the cool waters of So.Cal. kelp and critters. We have few very active planning groups and others that love to share the water with you..... check out the "crabs" here: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/beach-crabs/ and the Catalina "sticky" for more info. here:

When time gets closer, you may wish to post in the BeachCrabs section or the general So.Cal.Kelp Divers section as the travel section here is not visited as often.
We have good shore dives within 1 hour drive, and the dive park on Catalina is a great place to get your feet wet, and many boat trips options. Hope to see you in the water when you get here.

bring your wetsuit......your not in Tampa anymore ;)

Rialto is probably about 1.5-2 hours from the beach with traffic.

There are a lot of places to dive around Southern CA. Catalina should definitively be on your list.
