There are few caves and cave divers in Japan. JUE is probably the only dive operation organizing annual cave trips. After a successful GUE Fundamental class divers can join a GUE cave class (Welcome | Global Underwater Explorers). We plan to visit Mexico April/May over Golden Week 2-3 weeks next year and could organize cave classes through our friends at Zero Gravity during that time. Later on 2011 we plan to go to France, and probably also some cave trips to Asian destinations next Winter.

Here are some videos to give you a hint on how beautiful it is in a cave:

Eriko and I just arrived in Paris on our way back home to Japan after a week of superb cave diving in Lot (SW France). Next years reservations already being made... ;-)

Day 1
Ressel 52 minute warm-up dive
Ressel 59 minute down to 30 meters checking out the shaft
...
Day 2
Cabouy 97 minute penetration using one stage.
Truffe. Fun cave! Would love to go back with smaller tanks and go further beyond the 2nd dry area.

Day 3
St. George 137 minute dive using one stage. 10+ meters visibility which is unusually good for this cave.

Day 4
Landenouse 118 minute dive using one stage. Beautiful cave!
Cugnac 50 minute dive. Fun to enter through the river.

Day 5
Cabouy 166 minute dive using two stages. Absolutely stunning big cave!

Day 6
Ressel 150 minute dive, max depth 60 meters on 18/45. 50 minutes penetration to the 750 m mark, 60minute deco. Great dive!!!

Most likely our story on the cave survey we conducted with Jacob Mellor in Philippine will be published in next issue of Quest:

Quest | Global Underwater Explorers

If cave interested check it out when published!

Hopefully we will also soon be able to publish a survey on a cave here in Japan... ;-)
