I've carried a Princeton Tec Aquastrobe for several years, but with one AA battery, the thing has always felt like a toy. I finally purchased a Jotron AQ4 strobe this week. This strobe is powered by 1 C battery, and is significantly brighter than the Aquastrobe. The size is about that of an Oxycheq Raider I flashlight, but weighs less. In the picture below, I have the Aquastrobe, a C battery that goes into the AQ4, the AQ4, an OxyCheq Raider 1 light, and a Halcyon Scout light.

Though I didn't buy from these guys (wish I had known, as I spent $15 more, on sale), I found this link in a 2007 Scubaboard post. This is far and away the best price I've seen for the strobe:
Marine electronics - Discount marine electronics

So far, I haven't had a chance to dive it, or to see how it fits in my drysuit pockets.
-Todd.
