Vanuatu is a multi-island nation in the Melanesian South Pacific. It doesn’t receive hordes of tourists and the local population is among the friendliest in the entire world. Most people don’t realize that in Vanuatu, you can dive the closest thing to the wreck of the Titanic, in warm, clear water, near the shore; the wreck of the S.S. President Coolidge. For divers, there is also an opportunity to dive ‘Million Dollar Point’, another dive that is close to shore, where hundreds of tons of U.S. Military equipment was dumped after WWII, creating an impressive jumble of tanks, trucks, aircraft and more that are now encrusted with over 60 years of coral growth
Vanuatu is an adventure on land and below the sea. Located roughly halfway between Australia and Fiji, Vanuatu might as well be a million miles from either.

It sounds like an exciting trip and if I were interested in more of the land options, I would definitely want to go. However, you have a 16-day trip with only 6 days of diving scheduled and only one day on what is arguably your biggest draw, the Coolidge. If I were setting up this trip, I would devote more time to diving and fewer islands to visit, essentially wasting (as a diver) days of out-gassing to be able to fly.

An earthquake struck approximately 77 miles off the coast of Port Vila in Vanuatu today. We will be monitoring the situation, and we wish all the best to the Ni-Vans.
