Dolphin Dive Center's travel group is heading back to Roatan this August, at a price that we honestly thought was a misprint when the resort presented it to us. We still have a few rooms available, and you're welcome to join us.
Roatan is a beautiful island in the Caribbean, about 20 miles off the coast of Honduras. It's one of the few dive destinations that we go back to, over and over -- we're into double figures on visits to Roatan since we first discovered its charms in 1992. Great dive sites, lots of fun, terrific accommodations and just the right mix of "c'mon, let's go diving" balanced with "hey relax, you're on vacation!"
We'll be staying at Anthony's Key Resort, in top-of-the-line Key Superior air-conditioned cabanas that are literally over the water. Our Aug. 1-Aug. 8 trip includes 21 boat dives, unlimited shore diving, all of your meals, plenty of island activities...and all the hammock time you can handle on your own covered deck. Most of the dive sites are only five or 10 minutes from the resort, so we'll return to Anthony's Key in between dives. No sitting on the boat for your surface interval!
Our total price is just $2,189 including round trip air from Los Angeles -- that's a savings of more than $1,000 per couple compared to published room rates, taxes and airfares, and it's substantially cheaper than the cost of our Roatan trip two years ago, even though airfares this time are considerably higher. Travel from any other U.S. city is also available at a similar rate -- just give us a call.
Non-diving adults can participate in the resort's organized snorkeling program, visiting many of the same beautiful sites as the divers. Non-divers save $100 over above rates, and kids age 5-14 save $325 each, and can participate in the resort's fantastic six-day Dolphin Camp, the best kid's program around. If you have children age 5 and up, your kids will absolutely adore you for taking them to AKR. You won't miss a moment of diving, and they'll never forget their daily experiences with the dolphins that call Anthony's Key home.
