Hi, our dive club is very pleased to announce that we are going back to
Roatan, Honduras and Anthony's Key Resort for a fantastic week of diving in
August -- and you're invited!
Roatan is a world-class diving destination at the southern tip of the
planet's second-longest reef system, which stretches from Cozumel, through
Belize, and on to the Bay Islands of Honduras. Roatan, the largest of the
Bay Islands, lies about 25 miles east of the mainland, in the warm southwest
Caribbean.
This is a fantastic opportunity for new divers to experience the delight of
easy, warm tropical diving, but Roatan also offers incredible wall dives and
stunning reefs that will thrill even the most experienced among us. We took
a group of 26 people to Roatan in August, 2004, to rave reviews from all who
made the trip. The group leader for this trip has been to Roatan more than
10 times. There are 20 people signed up for this year's trip, so far.
For those of you with kids -- whether they are divers or not -- there is
simply no better place on the planet for a summer vacation than Anthony's
Key, which each year runs its acclaimed "Dolphin Camp," allowing kids from
age 5 to 14 the opportunity to spend a week interacting with more than a
dozen resident dolphins, while also getting an optional taste of scuba or,
for those age 10 and up, actually getting certified to dive!
Non-diving adults are offered daily snorkeling excursions, as well as all of
the other weekly activities, including beach barbecues, rainforest=canopy
zip line adventures, swim and snorkling opportunities, and many more.
We will depart for Roatan late on the evening of Friday, Aug. 10th,
returning on Saturday night, Aug. 18. Your all-inclusive package includes
round-trip air from Los Angeles (other cities available), a week of diving
(three boat dives per day, plus two night dives and unlimited shore diving),
seven nights at Anthony's Key, three excellent meals each day at the resort,
and ground transfers on the island.
The trip is priced at $1,975, per person, double occupancy, for Hillside
superior-grade rooms with air conditioning. For an air-conditioned room on
the Key, right over the water, the price is $2,275. Other room categories
may also be available. The single-supplement add-on is only $176. (Please
note: These prices are for departure from Los Angeles. Other departure
cities are available, and prices are subject to change due to airfare
variations until your deposit is received.)
As of this writing, we have 20 people booked, with one remaining Hillside
