Hey guys -

Love fish? Love to dive? Looking for a truly unique experience? Then join New England Aquarium divers on their upcoming expedition to the Bahamas to help responsibly collect reef fishes and invertebrates at beautiful and remote dive sites throughout Bimini on special permit with the Bahamian government. This week-long adventure includes learning how to identify species, gather data for species surveys, collecting, and conducting animal husbandry for marine life. The expedition begins when you meet the NEAq team on a live-aboard research vessel in Miami. From there you'll cross the Gulf Stream and get busy collecting with the last day spent in Miami preparing specimens for shipment to Boston.

Trip participants are also given the rare opportunity to dive in the Giant Ocean Tank, the largest exhibit at the Aquarium filled with reef fishes, moray eels, sea turtles, sharks and stingrays.

Dates: April 24 – May 2, 2015

Cost is $3,500 per person, not including airfare to and from Miami. Cost includes accommodations aboard the R/V Coral Reef II and up to 5 dives per day (tanks and weights provided), professionally prepared meals and beverages (including beer and wine), membership to the New England Aquarium, and a dive in the Giant Ocean Tank. This opportunity is open to certified divers and snorkelers, ages 18+.

Please contact Sarah Driscoll at sdriscoll@neaq.org or call 617.973.5248 for more details.

Also feel free to ping me here if you have any questions. It's an amazing trip, and I may be on this one as well...
