Hey everyone,

As per the recommendation, I figured I would introduce myself here.

I am from Santa Monica, CA having moved here about 10 months ago from upstate New York. I got into scuba after I moved here, so all of my diving up to this point has been in Southern California.

I have completed my rescue certification through PADI and am now interning as a DMC. Simply put, once I put a reg in my mouth underwater, I knew this was something I absolutely had to do. So, I'm kind of gearing my training towards helping others experience the same thing.

I already use SB for information about dive sites, but I hope to become a bit more of an active member and perhaps participate in some of the conversations.

Currently I am a boat and a shore diver. Most of my shore activity takes place up in Malibu, particularly Deer Creek and Leo Carrillo, but I'm alway up for trying something new. I like wrecks and deep dives, and can always go for a night dive as well.

Looking forward to meeting some of you as we trudge the road of happy diving. Cheers!

-John

Welcome. If you get the chance do a weekend trip to San Diego and try Waterhorse Charters. I lived down there for a year and a half before moving to warmer waters and dove with them almost every weekend. They do trips to wreck alley as well as trips out to the Coronado Islands and the Kelp beds. If you can swing it, go down on a Thursday night, dive the Islands on Friday and the wrecks on Saturday morning. A three tanl wreck alley trip that is usually two dives on the Yukon and one on the Ruby E. Knock out six dives in two day have a nice meal and be happy.

Also look at SunDiver Charters in your area. They do some really neat trips out to the oil rigs.

I, as you felt the pull when I first started in Feb. of 2009. Luckily I have lived in places that are scuba firendly and am currently doing about 100 to 110 dives a year. Also currently working on my PADI DM. Stick with it and enjoy
