Zerogravity, the jellyfish in your picture are Chrysaora fuscescens, commonly known as Sea nettle. They are on display in the Monterey Aquarium. Is that where you took the picture?

Davehicks, your picture is indeed of a Lion's Mane (Cyanea Capillata).

I took this photo while diving the Bayronto wreck off Sarasota on Sept 19th. The jelly was at a depth of about 90 fsw. The object in the right background is the turtled haul of the 400ft wreck.

I shot this using a N90s SLR in a Ikelite housing, 20mm AF-D lens, and a single Ikelite 100A aimed to edge light the jelly, which worked well to keep the backscatter low.

Got several other nice pics of the wreck, but this one was one of my favorites.

That is a positively stunning shot. The composition is perfect, like the real moon rising. Well done.
