When surfacing after a night dive with jellies, turn off your light (they are attracted to it), and purge your reg in a circular motion above you. This will make a "hole" for you to get to the surface. In case you do get stung, scrape off any remaining stingers and apply liberal amounts of vinegar.

For your best protection, wear a full wetsuit or skin.
