I am looking to take a trip there in feb. Does anyone know a good livaboard. Also I'd like it to be around (or less) $2k USD.

Lastly I live in Montreal but I am american (I also have an israeli passport) will I have an issue? Best to use israeli passport?

Thanks.

You basically have no options (unless Im mistaken), and you have to go with Cuban Diving Centers and the Avalon fleet.

I dove with them and the service was quite good. The food was really good. Now, there are several ships there, so you have to take that into consideration. I dove the Georgiana (fantastic boat) which is now NOT available in Jardines de la Reina and it's over at the Isle of Youth. The big boat (the Avalon I I think it's called) is quite a good boat, and it's "luxurious". All the beige carpeting crap and beige living room leather seats. I actually hated it a bit, and found the one I dove from (Georgiana) much better. I love the Halcon, albeit not all the rooms have private bathroom, and rooms are quite tight. But it's got the old good wood, that always feels warm and fuzzy. Again, it depends on what your expectations are. I wouldn't dive the other boats though, I found them to be too cramped. The Halcon being the smallest one I would go to. But again, it all depends on the individual.

Cheers!

Private bath rooms? Leather? Geez the livaboard I've been on haven been quite the budget operation. I'll settle for decent food and A/C.

Are certain boats cheaper?
