& Meeting Agenda

Sunday, January 10, 2010: 2:00 PM- 5:00 PM

Sean O'Donnell's

Hope everyone had a great holiday season full of good times spent with family and friends! Best wishes for the coming year.

January Meeting
The January meeting will focus on dark backgrounds: camera settings and post processing. Dark backgrounds make for dramatic pictures, and also are a useful way of hiding backscatter.

Also on the agenda will be getting ready for photo submittals for the Pacific Northwest Dive and Travel Expo this coming May 21-23, planning local dives, and the regular photo and travel sharing.

Travel Opportunities
There are two out of area travel opportunities currently on the horizon. First is a trip to Monterey in the April, 2010 time frame. We plan on meeting up with photographers from Backscatter and the Northern California underwater photographic group.

The second is a dolphin/reef shark photo shoot out of Freeport in the Bahamas. The dates on this trip are June 5-12, and there are currently four slots available.

If either of these trips are of interest, please give Dan a call at 425.418.8755.

Exhibits
Mary Beth Johnson, Tim Dold, and Dan Clements are showing underwater photos from January 11 through March 6 at Sisters in Everett. This another opportunity both to show work and share the beauty of life below the water line with others.

Resources
Peter Rowlands just came out with issue 52 of Underwater Photographer. This is a free on-line publication from the UK that is full of useful information. If you have not seen this publication, be sure to check it out.

Meeting Logistics
PNWUPS meetings are held 2:00 PM, the second Sunday of each month, in the meeting room at Sean O’Donnell’s Restaurant, 122 128th St SE, Everett 98208, 425.338.5700.
