So just what is considered poor vis?

For me it is under about 8ft. 10ft is average and anything above that is a treat, with the best we have seen at over 80ft.

For here it's not so much the horizontal vis distance I refer too but the amount of particulate matter in the water that also affects the distance. Even the close-up shots sucked because of the particulate matter. Yes, I know. I am spoiled with clear water in the Philippines and Maui.
